Castellum + NORNORM creates new business solutions for a sustainable future

Castellum's goal is always to create economically, ecologically and socially sustainable solutions. In collaboration with NORNORM, Castellum will offer its customers a circular subscription service for office furniture in Nordic design. First in the pilot project to test the new concept are Castellum's premises in Danderyd and Stadshagen.

Post-pandemic places new demands on the future office space. Companies and employees have changed their behaviour and view of their workplace, forcing different and flexible ways of working. There are rapid changes in the market and it is becoming increasingly important to be able to offer sustainable and flexible office solutions with high service. The office needs to be secured for the future and be flexible based on the changing needs of the business, both to attract employees and to optimise the business.

The real estate market is in a process of change and Castellum wants to lead the way and take responsibility for a more sustainable society. The turnover of old office furniture is a growing environmental problem and as part of that work, Castellum has actively worked on finding circular business solutions that reduce the environmental impact during expansion.

– As a long-term player in urban and real estate development, it is important to contribute to the development of a sustainable society. The collaboration with Nornorm gives us the opportunity to, in a flexible and simple way, offer our tenants a service that is in line with our sustainability goals. We are starting the pilot project and will evaluate continuously, says Business Area Manager Eva-Lotta Svensson at Castellum.

Castellum is the Nordic region's most sustainable real estate company, and sustainability work is fully integrated into the business and characterises ownership, management, and development of the real estate portfolio as well as customer relations, employees and financing.

Castellum and NORNORM are now jointly investing in furnishing a number of premises spread over approx. 4,500 square metres in Danderyd and Stadshagen, Stockholm. The goal is to be able to attract more tenants, as well as make it possible to move in immediately after signing. Each business premise has a furniture subscription from NORNORM, where the tenant gets access to a fully flexible, circular and fully furnished premise with a fixed monthly cost, but with free access to adjust the room according to their needs. This means that the tenant can have a tailored solution at the time they move in.

– Circular economy is the key to driving development and at the same time creating a better world through zero impact on the environment. The question is why should you invest in office furniture when you can subscribe and let the furniture pass on to someone else when you no longer use it? It is something that Castellum realised and wants to develop in a pilot project together with NORNORM in their upcoming property development. We are incredibly happy to announce that partnership, says Jonas Kjellberg, founder and chairman of the board at NORNORM.

NORNORM provides businesses with attractive workplace furniture services based on

subscription. Requiring neither investment nor long-term commitment, it offers flexibility to scale up or down as the company grows or downsizes. The concept is built on circularity, where every piece of furniture is kept in a loop from one workspace to the next, and every product is carefully maintained and refurbished to extend its lifespan. Good for business, people and the planet. NORNORM is not just a concept, a company or a service — it is a new and circular way of doing business.
