Disrupter of office interior NORNORM appoints Mette Maix as Chair

Copenhagen, Denmark, May 6, 2026

NORNORM, the Nordic scale-up redefining office furnishing, today announces the appointment of Mette Maix as Chair of the Board.

An experienced board director and former CEO of Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Rosendahl Design Group and Berlingske Media, Mette Maix brings strong commercial and governance experience to support NORNORM’s continued growth across Europe. The position in NORNORM will be her third position as board leader, while also continuing as chair of Coffee Collective and her other board roles across several large organizations such as Unicef, Matas and Danske Spil

The appointment comes at a time of strong momentum for NORNORM – the company that is disrupting the €50 billion market of office furniture with their circular subscription model. The company continues to expand its circular subscription model across key European markets, helping businesses create flexible  workspaces, avoiding large upfront investments while reducing waste and extending the lifespan of furniture.

The appointment of Mette Maix strengthens NORNORM’s governance as the company scales, supporting its ambition to expand its footprint and further establish the circular subscription model as a new standard for office furnishing.

Her primary task will be to sustain a focus on growth and expansion across the current and new markets, improve profitability and position NORNORM as the leading global company in office furniture supply.

“Joining NORNORM at this moment is a genuine privilege. Market volatility is redefining how companies operate and plan. The structural shift towards flexibility strongly supports subscription-based models across segments. NORNORM has already demonstrated its ability to build a new circular category while delivering profitable growth across multiple European markets.” Mette Maix, Chair of the Board at NORNORM says and adds:

“At Board level, the priority will be to scale what works: expand the European footprint, strengthen governance in line with growth, and ensure strategic focus and capital discipline. With the right foundations in place, NORNORM is well positioned to become the global leader in office interior design.”
